Website Accessibility Statement

Introduction

We believe that the internet and services which we run should be open and accessible to all and have implemented and audited a range of features to ensure this is possible.

Visionrcl.org.uk is the primary website used by Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure. This accessibility applies to visionrcl.org.uk and may differ on our sub websites. Within our websites you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 400% without problems
  • navigate the website using just a keyboard
  • use the website with a screen reader
  • use our accessibility tool, Recite Me for enhanced accessibility tools

To fulfil our commitment to an internet and website which is accessible to all, we aim to adhere to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 (WCAG 2.2) at the AA level. Visionrcl.org.uk is built using W3C valid HTML 5 and CSS.

If you wish to contact our website team, you can get in touch on data.information@visionrcl.org.uk.

How accessible is this website

Parts of this website may not be fully accessible. For example:

  • some pages and document attachments are not written in plain English
  • some functions are not yet accessible using a keyboard
  • some images have alt text where there should be a null tag

We are working to consistently update our website where accessibility needs are flagged and undertake regular reviews of content on our website.

Technical information about website accessibility

Non-accessible content and what we are doing about it

  1. Decorative images across the website may contain alternative text where there should be a null tag. Images that are decorative don’t need a descriptive alt tag as they are not important when it comes to conveying information. We have made significant progress on reducing this but this may be found on some website pages.
  2. Those accessing our website with a keyboard will not be able to browse for seats on https://tickets.visionrcl.org.uk. This has been raised with our system supplier and is going to be addressed in the next release of the system. If you use a keyboard to navigate our website, and would like to book theatre tickets, you can contact our dedicated team on 020 8708 8800
  3. Those accessing our website with a keyboard may find multiple links going to the same place close together on https://tickets.visionrcl.org.uk, this has been raised with our supplier and we have been assured that this will be addressed in the next release of the system
  4. When using our language and font modifying tool, there are visual elements of our stats and statistics slider which may convert into text. This is being worked on by our developers.

Vision RCL websites

Vision RCL operates a number of sub-domain and micro websites. Some of these are maintained by us and some are hosted and maintained by external suppliers. Every effort will be made to provide accessibility tools on sites which are managed directly by Vision RCL, and where it is not possible we will be working with our suppliers to make the sites more accessible.
