About the park

Claybury Woods and Park holds a Green Flag Award and covers almost over 70 hectares, containing an ancient area of oak and hornbeam woodland (18 hectares) locally renowned for its variety of woodland spring flowers, including bluebells, veteran trees and fungi.

Claybury Park has been honoured with the prestigious Green Flag Award 2024, which recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, across the UK.

Park at a glance

Ancient Woodland

The park is made up of extensive meadows, wildlife ponds, wetland areas, managed scrub land and many ancient/veteran trees, and the site is being managed for nature conservation.

The ancient woodland has achieved Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certification.

The national standard for parks and open spaces in England and Wales recognises and rewards the best green spaces in the country with Green Flag Status.

Claybury Park has retained its Green Flag Status for 2024.

Valentines Park and Hainault Forest in Redbridge have been named among the UK’s top ten parks in the 2024 People’s Choice Awards. This prestigious award recognises and celebrates parks that are clean, well-maintained, and inviting spaces for relaxation and recreation, and highlights the strong community support for Redbridge’s beloved green spaces.

Outdoor Gym

Claybury Park features an outdoor gym which is free to use and fun way to stay way to stay active whilst getting some fresh air. By using the outdoor gyms frequently this will enable you to maintain/lose weight, strengthen your body, increase your fitness levels and improve mental wellbeing.
