Important COVID-19 information

All parks and open spaces across Redbridge are open for daily exercise and fresh air.

Our play areas across Redbridge parks are open. Cafes are running a takeaway only service. From Monday 29 March, sports courts (including MUGA and basketball) and outdoor gyms will reopen and outdoor sports (football/cricket) can resume. Bowls/Cricket can resume with their planned seasons on Saturday 17 April.

About the park

A Green Flag Award park with a variety of mature trees which provide a vista of colours particularly during Autumn months and will appeal to keen artists and photographers. There is a resting area in the centre of the park that has been recently landscaped and has been planted with shrubs and bulbs to provide an abundance of colour. Barbecues are not permitted at any of our parks and open spaces.

Former park keepers hut available for hire – deadline to apply 19 April

Calling all small or startup businesses! Are you looking for premises to work from?

The former Park Keepers hut in Elmhurst Gardens is available to hire. This good condition hut is set in a beautiful park location and provides an excellent opportunity for a business that may wish to grow. The facility has great potential to be developed and adapted into a small ice cream parlour, or even a café that could have chairs and tables outside.

Interested parties will be required to submit a business case demonstrating how they would operate and manage this facility within the park and how they could bring social value to the community (note: hirer would be responsible for all the utilities bills and maintenance of the building and need to have public liability insurance).

The notice period of tendering will commence from 6 April-19 April 2021. Expressions of interest should be emailed to coral.hayden@visionrcl.org.uk by Monday 19 April 2021.

Due to Covid restrictions, we cannot currently accommodate any visits, however a virtual video tour of the building can be provided.
