East London Shakespeare Festival presents: A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Get ready for a magical summer evening in Redbridge as the East London Shakespeare Festival brings A Midsummer Night’s Dream back to the beautiful walled gardens of Valentines Mansion. This joyful, high‑energy production is packed with mischief, chaos, romance and fairy‑filled magic, a perfect treat for families and theatre lovers of all ages.
The show takes place on Friday 10 July at 7:30pm (with gates opening from 6:30pm), giving you plenty of time to settle in, spread out your blanket and soak up the atmosphere before the story unfolds. With ELSF’s signature mix of slapstick comedy, contemporary flair and lively audience participation, this is Shakespeare as you’ve never seen it – bold, vibrant and made for everyone.
Follow Hermia, Lysander, Helena and Demetrius into an enchanted forest where nothing goes to plan and the fairies are in charge. The cast brings the story to life with infectious energy, making it easy to get swept up in the fun.
You’re welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy a relaxed summer evening outdoors. If you prefer to travel light, the on‑site café will be open throughout the performance with refreshments available. For younger audience members aged 3 and up, there’s also a delightful pre‑show “flower‑fairy” headband‑making workshop run by cast members. This activity is available at a small additional cost, so be sure to add a workshop ticket when booking.
