Our Rapid Reads Book Chat explores books under 200 pages and brings people together for a friendly chat over a cuppa. Please join us this Black History Month to celebrate and discuss our favourite short reads!
On Tuesday, 27 October, we’ll be discussing:
- If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin
- Assembly by Natasha Brown
- Passing by Nella Larsen
- Every Light in the House by Andrea Levy
Some other related Rapid Reads are:
-
-
-
- Hello Mum by Bernadine Evaristo
- Notting Hill Carnival: A West Side Story by Candice Carty-Williams
-
-
These are suggested books only, so feel free to read any other books suitable for Black History Month with fewer than 200 pages. You can then recommend your read/s to others at the book chat!
You can join Rapid Reads in person at Redbridge Central Library or you can join online. The online joining details will be emailed to you before the book chat and again on the morning of 27 October.
