About this library
Following structural engineers’ advice, South Woodford Library & Gym will remain closed for approximately 12 months to allow essential remedial works to take place.
In the meantime, we’ve made some exciting improvements to Redbridge Drama Centre, just a five-minute walk away. These include enhanced lighting, upgraded power and Wi-Fi, and refurbished changing facilities with new lockers. We’re also giving away the first 300 padlocks for free – one per member.
The entrance area has been transformed into a convenient ‘quick choice’ library space, where you can borrow and return books, study or unwind, and access our public PCs and Hublets.
Looking ahead, we’re planning a refreshed café offering and exploring new additions to our existing programme, which features dance, theatre, performing arts, and acrobatic skills.
