Vision Redbridge is calling on residents to celebrate their neighbourhoods and reconnect with nature as it launches Redbridge in Bloom 2026, centred around the theme “Love where you live, Let Redbridge Bloom.”
The annual competition encourages people of all ages to take pride in their local environment by transforming gardens, balconies, and community spaces into vibrant, welcoming areas. This year’s theme places a strong emphasis on appreciation for local surroundings while inspiring positive action to improve them.
At the heart of the initiative is a focus on sustainability. Participants are encouraged to adopt “planet-friendly gardening” techniques, such as planting for pollinators, conserving water, and avoiding peat-based products. These practices not only enhance outdoor spaces but also contribute to wider environmental goals, including supporting biodiversity and addressing climate change.
The competition includes a wide range of categories to ensure accessibility for everyone, from Best Front Garden and Best Container Garden to Best School Gardening Project and Best Sustainable Garden. Whether experienced gardeners or beginners, residents are invited to take part and showcase their creativity.
Alongside the competition, Vision Redbridge is offering opportunities for community involvement through workshops and volunteering, helping residents build skills and connect with others who share a passion for green spaces.
Entries are open until late May, with judging taking place in early June. Organisers hope the theme will inspire individuals and communities alike to take small but meaningful steps toward creating a cleaner, greener, healthier borough.
