A fun swim session for families with a disabled child to build water confidence. Parents/Carers must accompany their child in the pool/water and supervise them at all times. Lifeguards will be on pool side but there may be other swimmers in the pool.
Every Sunday – 2.30pm-3.30pm. During the summer holidays (3, 10, 17 & 24 August) this session will take place from 12pm to 1pm.
Please note this session will run alongside our Redbridge Holiday Mega Mix session so maybe nosier than usual.

To mark the finale of our Active Body Healthy Mind project, we turned up the rhythm with a vibrant fusion of reggae’s laid-back grooves and salsa’s high energy Latin flair.
This session took place on the 25 July and will be a celebration of Nepal by trekking through a simulation of Mount Everest.

Join our ranger John for a Monday morning forest clean up! Help us keep our forest clean, protecting our wildlife at the same time. These litter-picking sessions run every Monday, from 10am to 12pm. We meet in the second car park of Hainault Forest.
No pre-booking or previous experience is needed; just turn up on the day. Wear some sturdy, shoes, dress for the weather and bring any drinks and snacks you’d like.

The newly built playground at Hainault Forest is now open for children to come and enjoy hours of fun.
The new play installations will tell the story of the site – from the beacon towers to the hermit’s hut – providing children with a range of sensory experiences and play spaces to play physically, imaginatively, and collaboratively.
All play equipment is made from natural wood taking inspiration from the surrounding Forest and its royal history as a Tudor hunting ground. The outdoor play installations complement the storytelling experience that children can discover at the indoor exhibition in the neighbouring barns. The new playground is also home to the biggest slide in Redbridge.

For young riders aged 2 to 5 years the centre runs Strider Balance Bike sessions to prepare them for riding without stabilisers in the future. Costs is £5 per session.

Please note: (1) At busy periods, bike hire will be limited to a maximum of two hours use. Proof of ID, address and a £50.00 deposit will be required for bike hire. The Function Hall at Ashton Playing Fields is capable of holding 120 people and available until 11.30pm on Fridays and Saturday. The function hall is perfect for any event, including, birthdays, christenings, weddings and anniversaries. The Meeting Room is available all day every day, and is great for coffee mornings, tutorials or meetings. Holding up to 15 people a fantastic atmosphere can be generated.
We have 3 full sized and 1 junior grass football pitches for hire at Ashton Playing Fields. These can be hired on either a seasonal or one-off basis. Please contact our team to discuss availability.
Our 2G Astro Turf pitch is perfect for a range of activities including football, hockey and more. We can also host birthday parties and school bookings.
