Sleepy cygnets, perfect pyramidal orchids, beautiful bumblebees and fox families are just some of the fantastic submissions we received for our recent Nature Photography Competition.
During summer 2021, Vision RCL organised a photography competition encouraging residents to engage with the natural world through a lens and explore some of the wonderful wild spaces in Redbridge. The competition, which was open to all ages, featured seven categories ranging from animal portraits to living landscapes. A special under 16s category saw submissions from children as young as age 3!
We are thrilled with the response to the competition, with notable entries from both professionals and amateurs. The diversity of subject matter and style is a testament to the beautiful landscapes and species found in Redbridge.
The panel of judges includes Kevin Wackett, Vision’s Head of Parks & Open Spaces, Cllr Kam Rai, Deputy Leader of Redbridge Council and Tim Harris from Wren Wildlife and Conservation Group. With more than 70 submissions sent in, the judges had a tough task in deciding on the winning and runner-up images for each of the seven available categories, which can be seen in our virtual exhibition.
The competition provided an opportunity for residents to further engage with nature on their doorstep and share their passion for the natural world with the local community. We would like to thank everyone that participated in this competition and to congratulate all our winners and runner ups.
