Nine parks across Redbridge are once again flying the prestigious Green Flag Award after achieving the international quality mark for parks and green spaces.
Redbridge Council is celebrating alongside its managing operator, Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure, after nine parks retained their Green Flag Award status for 2026/27.
The award-winning parks are:
- Clayhall Park
- Claybury Woods and Park
- Elmhurst Gardens
- Goodmayes Park
- Hainault Forest
- Ilford War Memorial Gardens
- Seven Kings Park
- South Park
- Valentines Park
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the internationally recognised Green Flag Award scheme.
The nine Redbridge parks are among a record-breaking 2,391 parks and green spaces across the UK to receive the award this year, recognising the dedication, passion and hard work of the teams who maintain these much-loved community spaces to the highest standards.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our parks teams, volunteers and partners who work throughout the year to ensure these spaces are clean, safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.
As we celebrate 15 consecutive years of Green Flag success in Redbridge, we remain committed to protecting and enhancing these valuable green spaces so that residents and visitors can continue to enjoy them for generations to come.”
Councillor Kam Rai, Leader of Redbridge Council, said,

There are fantastic places to play sport, enjoy community events, spend time with family and friends, and make the most of the outdoors. We are incredibly fortunate to have these award-winning green spaces on our doorstep, and this recognition is something everyone in Redbridge can be proud of and enjoy.”

The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under contract from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of recreational outdoor spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
