Help us to get Redbridge into the top ten by voting for your favourite park in the Green Flag Award People’s Choice Award.
Over the last few years, more than ever, we have all come to understand just how important it is to have a great park or green space on our doorstep. They have been a place to escape to, to meet friends in, to exercise in or simply to have a quiet moment in.
Thanks to the tireless work of parks staff and volunteers across the UK this year a record-breaking 2,127 parks and green spaces have been given a Green Flag Award – the international quality mark for parks and green spaces, including 9 Redbridge parks and open spaces.
Now, to celebrate our fantastic parks the public is being asked to vote for their favourite award-winning park.
Paul Todd, International Green Flag Award manager for Keep Britain Tidy, said:
“This year, probably more than ever, we have all come to understand the importance of our precious parks and green spaces and to value those that have been a lifeline for us in difficult times.
“The People’s Choice Award is your chance to show how much your favourite park means to you. Make your voice heard and vote now.”
For the past two years, residents of Redbridge have come together and successfully voted Valentines Park into the Top Ten parks in the country, beating off the tough competition. This year, nine Redbridge parks and open spaces have been automatically entered into the People’s Choice award:
- Valentines Park
- Clayhall Park
- Claybury Wood
- Elmhurst Gardens
- Goodmayes Park
- Hainault Forest
- Ilford War Memorial
- Seven Kings Park
- South Park
Voting is now open and closes on 14 November 2021, with the top ten winning sites announced at a virtual awards ceremony on the 23 November 2021.
