Vision’s Redbridge in Bloom campaign is back again for the 28th time and applications are open now!. For 2023 we want to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III so we want to see gardens fit for the King! Our amateur gardening competition is our annual way of encouraging and promoting gardening techniques that benefit our communities, wildlife, and the planet.

In honour of the King’s work in sustainability and helping the environment there is a brand-new category for this year; Best Sustainable, Planet-Friendly Garden. You might not be sure where to even start with making your garden more sustainable. Making small changes such as saving water, using peat-free soil, increasing wildlife-friendly habitats in our open outdoor spaces, and reducing surfaces that give rise to flooding can make a major difference.
Below is a list of all the categories gardens can be entered for:
- Best Front Garden
- Best Container Garden
- Best Public House
- Best Community Garden
- Best School Gardening Project
- Best Sustainable, Planet-Friendly Garden
The judging criteria for this year will endorse sustainable gardening practices. You can see a breakdown of the judging criteria for the year here.
In order to help with ideas, tips and inspiration for your gardens there is also a weekly blog. Every Monday until 26 June there will be a new blog with helpful insights into gardening and the competition. So far already we have already had a sneak peek into the launch of the competition and top gardening tips for 2023. This week we hear from a previous winner in the competition so make sure you take a look at what they had to say.
Applications for the competition are open now and they will close on Monday 3 July. Judging will be during the week commencing 10 July. To see more information, judging criteria, 2022 winners or to apply click here.
