It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer as Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure prepare their events programme. All events will be delivered in line with government guidance and will enable children and adults to mix again socially and enjoy the fantastic provision we have here in Redbridge.
Our Walking for Health group was one of our first events to resume, offering free walks for adults. Meeting at various parks and open spaces across Redbridge on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
A visit to Fairlop Waters over the summer period is a must, this beautiful country park bustling with families enjoying the wide range of activities this complex has to offer; Boulder Park, Owls Play Centre and back by popular demand for 2021 Aqua Bounce, inflatables on the lake! If you are keen to get on the water we have Rowing Boats available for hire plus a range of water sports available at Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre in June. These include sailing, canoeing, kayaking, raft building and stand up paddleboarding. Book now for the summer holiday water sports camps for children aged 8-16 years.
Our Nature Conservation team are planning to restart practical workday sessions at our parks and open spaces from 21 June onwards – these will be size restricted and will only be available to book online.
Redbridge Cycling Centre, is for cyclists of all abilities, from families to competitive riders, offering purpose built road, BMX & off-road tracks. For more info contact the Centre on 020 8500 9359.

Vision RCL are thrilled to present Redbridge Create’s Production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. This fishy fable will capture your heart with its songs, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.” Performances at Kenneth More Theatre will take place from Friday 13 to Saturday 21 August, tickets start from £14.

Redbridge Drama Centre has welcomed back students to their after-school programme, which includes sessions such as Performing Arts School and Street Dance. These sessions have led some pupils onto career path in performing arts. Redbridge Drama Centre in partnership with RSL (Rockschool Ltd) also offer Redbridge Drama and Dance Course, a unique vocational course for young people aged 16 years and over. This course is equivalent of two A levels, as well as the extended Level 3 Diploma (Two-year course) which is a high-quality equivalent of three A levels. Many of our students then go on to perform at our local theatres.
The Summer Reading Challenge in partnership with The Reading Agency, is being offered by Vision. This years’ theme WILD WORLD HEROES arriving in your local library and online. Discover how you can make a difference to the environment for this special nature-themed challenge that will inspire you to stand up for the planet! Bring your children along to sign up at your local library.
