Kenneth More Theatre
About the venue
Kenneth More Theatre was named after the much loved British Film and Stage actor Kenneth More who died in 1982. Featuring a steeply raked auditorium and a small studio theatre, it was designed by the Borough Architect and officially opened on 3 January 1975.
As well as our in house productions we love to support local and touring companies.
We can accommodate performances in the Auditorium and Cowan Studio Theatre. The hire of the auditorium is inclusive of basic lighting, sound and stage equipment and includes two of our wonderful technicians to support your vision. A range of additional equipment is available for hire including microphones, follow spots, star cloth and more.
Our auditorium seats up to 350 guests, inclusive of 7 wheelchair spaces and 20 additional step free seats. There is space backstage to facilitate 150 performers in dressing rooms and changing areas.

Main Auditorium
Our main auditorium seats 350. Full technical support is available for bookings and performances.
Cowan Studio
Our studio space comes equipped with full length mirrors on one wall, a 6 channel mixer, basic lighting with 18 channels of dimming using an LSC maxim desk. It has an adjoining toilet and kitchen facilities.
