Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure invites the residents of Redbridge to show their support for community swimming by joining us for Big Swim Day. For one day only, on Friday 24 February, we are offering half price swimming sessions for everyone, so please come and join us at your local Redbridge pool.

Sessions are available for all ages, there’s no need to pre book at Fullwell Cross Leisure Centre, although we do advise you to check our timetable beforehand, available on our website and Vision app! Advance booking is required for Loxford and Mayfield Swimming Pools and is available up to 7 days in advance.

Big Swim Day aims to increase the usage of local public support for swimming pools at a time of unprecedented pressure. The rise in energy costs has come on top of financial challenges arising out of closures during the period of the COVID pandemic, as well as continuing public expenditure constraints over many years.

We hope that our regular swimmers will make an additional visit on that Friday, and many of the community who have not been for a while will make a special visit. Also, by offering a half price swim, we hope users will reconnect or discover a newfound love for swimming and return on a regular basis.

Chair of Vision Trustees, Martin Solder said:

“Big Swim Day is the ideal opportunity for local people to show support for local community pools, facing unprecedented financial challenges, and while doing so to have a great time and build mental health and physical wellbeing.”

Come along with your friends and family, have a swim, and have fun together knowing that your part of a wide community effort to back Redbridge swimming facilities. Don’t forget to share your support on social media using #bigswimday and #saveourpools.”
