Vision’s Sport & Health team was presented with three Healthy Catering Commitments awards at a ceremony on Tuesday 4 February at Redbridge Town Hall. Two of our venues, Owl’s Play Centre and Redbridge Cycling Centre will proudly display this award. We’re also the first organisation in Redbridge to receive the award for an educational and health programme, Fit, Fed and Read which takes place at Loxford Youth Centre.
Healthy Catering Commitment status is awarded to those organisations that are committed to reducing the levels of saturated fat, salt and sugar in the food sold in their premises. Food consumed outside of the home tends to be higher in saturated fats, salt and sugar than food freshly prepared at home.
Since 2018 Vision has been committed to making small changes to the way we cook, what food we serve and offer smaller portions, if requested, to help improve our customers choices and overall health and wellbeing.
We are delighted that healthier food choices are now available at Owl’s Play Centre, Redbridge Cycling Centre and as part of our Fit, Fed and Read programme at Loxford Youth Centre.
