Vote for your favourite park in the People’s Choice Award 2019

Residents now have the chance to vote for their favourite Green Flag flying park in Redbridge as part of the People’s Choice 2019 awards.

Organised by Keep Britain Tidy, the prestigious poll finds the nation’s top 10 parks from almost 2,000 awarded Green Flag Award status by the environment charity.

In July, nine Redbridge parks and open spaces were again named as some of the best in the world after successfully retaining their coveted Green Flag award for another year:

  • Valentines Park
  • Clayhall Park
  • Claybury Wood
  • Elmhurst Gardens
  • Goodmayes Park
  • Hainault Forest
  • Ilford War Memorial
  • Seven Kings Park
  • South Park

Running for over thirty years, the Green Flag is a sign to visitors that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has the very best facilities.

Whether you enjoy visiting a park or green space to play football, walk the dog, exercise or simply get away from the hustle and bustle, if you think your favourite deserves to be in the top 10 People’s Choice then cast your vote.

Leader of the Council Cllr Jas Athwal, who is responsible for the borough’s parks, said:

“I am so proud that our wonderful parks have yet again been awarded Green Flag status. We’re so fortunate in Redbridge to have so many beautiful green spaces and playparks dotted all around the borough and I am absolutely committed to keeping up our high standards for these parks.

Our dedicated parks team at Vision work exceptionally hard to maintain our parks and we get fantastic support from many community groups too. Now we’re asking you to show your appreciation by voting in the People’s Choice awards and putting our fantastic parks on the map, alongside the very best in the country.”

The poll is open from 1 September, running throughout the month with the top 10 People’s Choice announced in October 2019.
