Follow the yellow brick road to Kenneth More Theatre this summer

As Redbridge Creates presents The Wizard of Oz from 29 July 29 to 5 August. A wonderful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s 1900 beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from MGM Film. This timeless tale shows the travels of young Dorothy from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical land of Oz.

This production is presented by ‘Redbridge Creates’ – a hub for the creative strands across the Redbridge Drama Centre, The Kenneth More Theatre and The Redbridge Music Service. The aim of the hub is to help local performing artists and provide a performance platform, bringing affordable and high-quality theatre to the Redbridge community as an unpaid opportunity. Some of Redbridge Creates’ previous successful productions include The Little Mermaid (August 2021) and Oliver! At Sir James Hawkey Hall (April 2019). These productions made by Redbridge Creates are a great way for Vision to showcase the talent of the young people across the borough.

Auditions are planned to take place on 25 May and will include characters such as Dorothy, Tin Man, The Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, Wizard and the rest of the cast. There will be a dance call first and all auditionees will need to prepare a song of their choice. Rehearsals will then follow throughout June and July ready for the performers to take the stage for the live performances.
