Dive into a world of colour and creativity, where every child can shine! If drawing isn’t your thing, don’t worry—we’ve got loads of other fun ways to create amazing art. This is all about celebrating YOU and your unique talents.

This special workshop is about making art accessible to everyone! For children with special needs and their families, we’ve created a playful, relaxed space where art becomes an adventure. With lots of ways to join in, everyone can explore their creativity—whether it’s painting, building, or simply having fun with colors and textures. If siblings want to hop over to Studio 1, they’re welcome too!

Booking is essential as spaces are limited.

Erika Meza developed a taste for eclairs in Paris before moving to the UK to teach drawing. She won a scholarship to study in L’École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, where she learned to combine bold colour and mark-making with poetry.  She wrote To The Other Side as a reaction to the US separation policy in 2018.

Flavia Z Drago’s debut picture book, Gustavo the Shy Ghost (2020) became a #1 NY Times bestseller. It was followed by Leila the Perfect Witch (2022) and Vlad the Fabulous Vampire (2023). In 2021 she won the Klaus Flugge Prize, awarded to the awarded to the most promising and exciting newcomer to children’s picturebook illustration.

Welcome to The Craft Café at the Festival of the Dead

Step into the serene and immersive corner of the Festival of the Dead, where The Craft Café offers a haven for quieter activities and meaningful conversations.

At The Craft Café, we believe that libraries, as safe and trusted community spaces, can foster important discussions about loss, grief, end-of-life planning, and legacy through the power of books and reading.

Location: First Floor

Time: 2pm to 4pm

What to Expect:

  • Crafts and Interactive Activities: Engage in creative projects and activities that invite introspection and thoughtful reflection.

This friendly, safe, and confidential space welcomes all viewpoints. Whether you wish to think, chat, or simply listen, The Craft Café is here to support you.
