Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure, Redbridge Institute of Adult Education and Work Redbridge have teamed up to bring you Hainault Community Day – where everyone is invited to take part in FREE activities!

Hainault Community Day is taking place on Friday 12 July from 9.30am to 1pm at the Hainault Community Association, where you can take part in:

  • Series of employability workshops; preparation for work, CV writing, effective communication and interview skills
  • Well-being sessions featuring; Zumba, Mindfulness and Yoga
  • Visit exhibitor stalls offering visitors free health-check and career progression advice

Advance booking is required for each FREE workshop.

In addition Hainault Library will also be running some family activities which will include arts and crafts, board games and Lego session. No advance booking required, just drop in, for more information see the timetable below.

As part of South Asian Heritage Month, join author Niall Moorjani for some storytelling and craft based on their beautiful debut picture book Rajiv’s Starry Feelings – and learn more about the complex emotions we all feel but can’t always name. 

Niall Moorjani is a mixed Scots-Indian award-winning writer and storyteller. They draw inspiration from fairy tales, folk tales and history and love giving them a modern twist. Rajiv’s Starry Feelings is their debut picture book.

You might like our new Rapid Reads Book Club!

We’ll be reading books of less than 200 pages and then getting together to chat about them over a cuppa.

The group meets on the fourth Tuesday monthly at Redbridge Central Library.

You can also join online via Teams.

Our planters on the Central library patio need some care and rejuvenation ready for the summer. Help us tend to them and fill them with new plants and seeds.
Don’t forget to visit the library regularly to see how much they have grown!

There’s always fun to be had around the duck pond, come rain or shine. Let’s see what we can find! 

An intimate, interactive storytelling for our smaller visitors and their caregivers — featuring sensory objects, rhymes and stay-and-play. Take a trip to feed the ducks. What will you see? What will you feel? 

Please note: during your visit to The Duck Pond, there will be some sensory water play. It is advisable to bring a change of clothes, just in case.

Join Trish Cooke, the bestselling author of So Much and Full, Full, Full of Love as she introduces her new Rapunzel inspired story The Magic Callaloo 

Inspired by stories of enslaved Africans who used patterns in their cornrowed hair as maps to escape their enslavers, this storytelling event will inspire creativity from even the smallest readers!  

Trish Cooke writes multi-racial children’s books, scripts for theatre, television, radio and film. She is also an actress. Her series of inter-racial adaptations of children’s fairy tales have been popular at the Theatre Royal Stratford East. Cinderella (2007) was the first pantomime to be nominated for an Olivier Award. Trish lives in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
