In this fun session with award-winning picture book author Andrew Weale, children will enjoy two very interactive readings of Andrew’s most successful picture books, Newt in a Suit and Nora. There will be a word search Bingo game, animal masks, and Nora Fatima Buffet will definitely need help colouring in a special picture illustrated by Ben Cort of Aliens Love Underpants fame.

Join author, illustrator and paper engineer John O’Leary in a craft activity that celebrates libraries and the pleasure of reading. Using books chosen by your local librarian as a starting point and source of inspiration, create 3D pop-ups exploring plot, character and setting.

This hands-on workshop is an opportunity to acquire new skills in pop-up design, craft-making and illustration. Learn basic pop-up mechanisms and how to develop them into more complex designs, all in easy-to-follow steps.

All materials are supplied – just bring your creativity!

A fun, interactive and educational nature-themed class featuring a story followed by fun sensory activities. Super Explorers will help to develop children’s love of learning through story time and sensory play.

Sophia from Super Explorers will read a story and then children will have the chance to explore a variety of brilliant activities, aimed at developing ALL of the key areas of Early Years Development, ending with some fun singing and dancing.

Kids will develop: Personal, social and emotional development, Communication and language, Physical development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the world, Expressive arts and design

There will be construction, arts and crafts, sensory activities (e.g play-dough, foam, water beads), a mark making area, maths (shapes, space & measure), a reading area and lots more. The variety of activities means that it will suit all interests, ages (16 months +) and abilities. This will be a fun, interactive and educational class where your child will grow in confidence and independence, as well as develop important social skills.

Join Hannah Peck as she reads parts of her book ‘Kate on the Case’, followed a fun and interactive illustration workshop.

Hannah Peck is an author and illustrator based in East London. Storytelling is central to her work; whether drawing from folklore or building detailed worlds in children’s books. Her debut fiction series, Kate on the Case, was shortlisted for the Alligators Mouth Award 2022 and the V&A Illustration Awards 2022.

Copies of Hannah’s books will be available for purchase.

This event is open to families and children, and there will be various activities such as card making, reusable nappy demos, compost bottle making, a fashion show & trash dance, a litter relay & tin can alley, and more.
