Back by popular demand, come face to face with the man who isn’t there at Tech Ilford! A living, breathing science experiment. Guided by his mysterious doctor, witness this scientific marvel and learn more about how he came to (not) be. Interact with him as he explores his new powers, but be warned you may see more (or less) than you bargained for!

Come witness BEES! The Colony.

Tended by beekeepers, audiences wander amongst the honey-perfumed Bee colony, finding a variety of ways of viewing and interacting with the beehives. In each there is a surprising conceptual twist that challenges, charms and confounds expectations – you may find yourself looking into the vastness of space, or teased by a telescopic hive soaring into the air.

BEES! The Colony is supported by Without Walls.

Originally created as part of 6 Impossible Things – a collaboration between Avanti and Artizani with support from Arts Council England.

The Let’s Grow Nannies are two eccentric gardeners who’re out for a day trip with their family of little ones. So, if you see an old pram brimming with some beautiful bouncing  baby fruits and vegetables, come over and say hello! No doubt the nannies could use a hand with feeding and taking care of all their adorable babes. Endearing characters include Jessica, the Sweet-Potato beauty queen, Oz the talented little marrow who dreams of becoming a stage actor and Babs, the daring downhill racing Watermelon.

The Vegetable Nannies were commissioned by Without Walls in 2007.

The Let’s Grow Vegetable Nannies invite you to join them in their pop-up Allotment for a bit of gardening and childcare. Come inside the picket fencing and get stuck into the daily duties of feeding, bathing and caring for all the adorable baby fruits and vegetables. Audiences are encouraged to befriend, feed and comfort all manner of earthen toddlers, such as Hercules the bodybuilder Butternut Squash, Peep the Cauliflower, who wants to be a paramedic and Jolene the Sweetheart Cabbage who’s practicing to be a Magician.

The Let’s Grow Pop-Up Allotment was commissioned by Without Walls in 2007.
