Choogh Choogh by Beeja is inspired by the joy of travelling through India on a train. The journey starts with audience getting a special choogh choogh ticket. Sound scape is rich with sounds of train, hawkers, festivals and musicians.

Artists sing songs specially written for children – Chai Chai, Coffee Coffee. Scarves become steam, railway tracks, train windows, camels, and so much more. A journey where the audience experience the world from inside the train, through the train and outside it. Along the way the tickets get checked, imaginary food is sold and shared, among other interactions.

This show is an exploration of just how much we can see and imagine, together, as the train chooghs chooghs on.

Suitable for children under 7 and their families.

Choogh Choogh is supported by Without Walls.

About

Catch your breath and enjoy a free, freshly made brew in this heart-warming new show by Trigger.

Tea leaves have journeyed across continents and centuries to take their place as the great comforter of our time. With tea served from Trigger’s beautifully hand painted Tuk Tuk, this gentle performance brings an uplifting moment of pause.
Uniting people across the world and throughout our lives, inviting us to rest awhile, appreciate all that we have, honour moments that have passed and ready ourselves for what is to come.

Have a well-deserved TEABREAK and as you stir your cup, gently glide through an audio journey of tea and how it’s found itself into our tea pots.
A mesmerising audio journey takes you from leaf to cup, travelling across continents from the sounds of tea-pickers in Sri Lanka to the hum of a British cafe.
Featuring sound bites from gardeners, historians, tea-makers, mothers, children speaking about what tea means to them – this audio journey is about honouring one of our most loved rituals, tea drinking.

The audio is accompanied by a beautiful piece of choreography, performed by two dancers in beautiful costumes.

About

A large-scale outdoor performance featuring a sea giant puppet and a contemporary dancer, inspired by the themes of the climate emergency and the biodiversity crisis.

Out of the Deep Blue is an outdoor physical theatre performance featuring a 13-foot tall Puppet operated by 5 puppeteers and a female dancer.
This spectacle is designed specifically for family and festival audiences and tells the magical story of Eko, a sea giant who rises from the deep ocean and who encounters, on the shore, a courageous little girl called Violet.

The performance is in two-parts: a 25-minute promenade of the giant puppet interacting with the location, environment, architecture and the audience, and a 25-minute dance theatre duet.

Access

Pre-recorded audio notes prior to the event and synchronised Full Audio Description for the performance are available for streaming and download (on SoundCloud) before the event and to listen to during the live shows.

To help with understanding what to expect from the performance of Out of the Deep Blue, an Easy Read Guide is available.
