To celebrate National Play Day 2025 join us on Christchurch Green

Teddy Bear’s Picnic 2.30 pm – 3.00 pm

With songs, rhymes and stories  suitable for under 5’s

Games in the Park Craft Activities 3.00 pm – 4.00 pm

Giant games to enjoy and Dino eggs to decorate. Suitable for ages 4 – 10 years

Please note that this event will take place in the park, weather permitting, and will be held in the Wanstead Library hall if it rains.

This summer, we are going dinosaur crazy! As part of the Fabula Reading Challenge, stomp and chomp through stories and join in with our dinosaur-themed activities. To sign up for the Fabula Reading Challenge, speak to a member of staff at the desk, scan the QR code or visit our website.

Plant your pot of cress to take home and grow. Design the cover for the plant pot by choosing one of the Dino designs and adding your finishing touches! Don’t forget to water your cress! This event is a drop-in, no booking!

Make a suncatcher for your window at home – catch some sun rays and let your dino creation shine! Choose a Dino shape and fill in the blank with a variety of different materials.

Make a scary dinosaur puppet using the shape of an origami fortune teller box! How scary can you make your dinosaur?

Join the Tamil Community Centre for a programme of activities on Wednesday afternoons during South Asian Heritage Month.

Their programme will feature the following performances and workshops, along with additional activities:

  • Classical dances – Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak
  • Classical music – Carnatic, Hindustani
  • Bhajans – devotional music
  • Folk dances and music
  • Rangoli/Handicraft
  • Yoga Asanas, Pranayama, Talks
