To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) and Victory over Japan (VJ) Day, this exhibition by Redbridge Museum uncovers some of the local impacts of the Second World War.
The displays explore how the war affected local life, including evacuation, air raids, rationing, the Home Front, local industry, the role of women, victory celebrations and the post-war world.
The exhibition features a wealth of historic objects, photographs, and personal items from local people, many on display for the first time.
