Foxburrows Barn is a brand-new function suite set within the magnificent 400 acres of Hainault Forest; the scenic views of the surrounding woodland provide the perfect backdrop for your function or event. Our large open plan room has its own adjoining toilets, use of kitchen facilities and the extensive forest surroundings.

The building, dating back to 1856, has been restored to its former glory and is ready and waiting to host your event – from weddings to birthdays, training to conferences, the space can accommodate all kinds of gatherings.

About the venue

If you’re looking for a truly unique venue in a beautiful setting look no further than Valentines Mansion & Gardens.  Dating back to 1696, the house was originally built for the widow of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Mansion retains much of its original features and charm and makes the perfect backdrop for weddings, celebrations and many other events including business meetings.  With a dramatic grand staircase, intricate fireplaces, stained-glass windows and period rooms, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time to create your own piece of history.

Wedding receptions and parties enjoy exclusive use of Valentines Mansion. With a maximum capacity of 120 guests it’s the choice of venue for an intimate gathering.  Our dedicated Events Team closely with select caterers to ensure that you receive a first-class service on your special day.

For ceremonies, choose from one of our many licensed rooms.  The Drawing Room, with its dramatic fireplace and enchanting balcony is perfect for larger ceremonies.  The Morning Room and Gallery & Holcombe Rooms are also all licensed for marriage ceremonies and civil partnerships. Each and every room boasts its individual character and charm. 

Capture picture perfect memories in our beautifully kept historic gardens, featuring the Old English and Walled gardens which look magical at any time of year.

Located on the borders of Essex and London, Valentines Mansion & Gardens provides you with the ideal location for your special occasion. Easy to reach, Valentines Mansion is located just off the A12 and A406 with ample car parking on site.  Gants Hill station on the Central Line is just a 5 minute stroll away, perfect anyone using the underground. Ilford National Rail is also just down the road.

Redbridge Town Hall is a late Victorian Grade II listed building and is an impressive landmark in the centre of Ilford.

Constructed in 1901, Redbridge Town Hall has a spacious hall which is available for hire; the Main Hall. Get in touch with our team to discuss your requirements.

As we are only 15 minutes from Liverpool Street, the beautifully conserved former Council Chamber is available to hire for a range of social functions and events. Sir James Hawkey Hall was the civic hall for the former borough of Wanstead and Woodford, that was opened in March 1955 by Sir Winston Churchill. Its grand mid-century decor and commemorative historical items lend an impressive backdrop for your function.

The venue includes the main hall, smaller side hall, large foyer, dressing rooms, green room, ladies lounge/prayer room, kitchens, servery and large stage; making it ideal for a wide range of functions and events.
