Immersive Black Histories, for people 13 years old and over
Experience the powerful virtual reality film “Travelling While Black” and step into the lived realities of Black Americans throughout history. This immersive VR session transports you to the iconic Ben’s Chili Bowl in Washington, D.C., where you’ll hear first-hand reflections on the challenges of restricted movement, the creation of safe spaces, and the ongoing struggle for equality. Afterwards, we’ll offer space for quiet reflection or conversation.
Join us for Black History Month as we use virtual reality to remember the past, spark dialogue, and reflect on the journeys and resilience of Black communities—then and now. We are running free sessions at 10:30 am, 11.30 am, 1.30 pm, 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm.
IMPORTANT: This is a 20 minute, seated Virtual Reality documentary with quite powerful themes and is recommended for ages 13 yrs+.
