The micro:bit is a pocket-sized micro-controller that has 25 LEDs that can flash messages and be used to create games and much more using block coding (overlaying Javascript) and Python. It is super easy to get started and now any adult or child from 8 yrs+ can borrow it for free from any Redbridge Library!

Its built-in compass will knows in which direction you are heading, and you can use the Bluetooth connection to interact with other devices and the internet. Visit the micro:bit website for projects, challenges and to even find out how to connect it with the micro:bit app for phones and tablets or directly to a computer. Remember to bring back you micro:bit on time to avoid paying any late return fines.
