Following the advice of structural engineers, South Woodford Library & Gym will remain closed for an estimated 12 months to allow for essential remedial works to be completed.
To accommodate our users we have made some impressive changes to Redbridge Drama Centre, which is just a five minute walk from South Woodford Library & Gym. These improvements include converting existing rooms into a gym area and fitness studio, with upgrades to the lighting, power and Wi-Fi. We have also refurbished there changing facilities and installed new lockers available. We’re giving away the first 300 padlocks for free to our members: 1 padlock per member. We have also transformed the entrance area into a ‘quick choice’ library area for you to borrow and return books, space to study or relax and login to our public PCs and Hublets.
Up and coming plans include an improved café offer with some tasty post-work out treats for you. We’re also exploring enhancements to the existing programming which includes dance, theatre, performing arts, and acrobatic skills.

The Gym @ Redbridge Drama Centre
Whilst South Woodford Library & Gym is closed, you can now access The Gym at Redbridge Drama Centre, featuring a 31-station setup and a dedicated studio, equipped with all the relocated facilities from South Woodford Library and Gym.
We’re offering a range of membership options tailored to your needs, including a 90-day gym-only pass and inclusive memberships. The inclusive options provide access to gym, swim, and group exercise classes across all our leisure facilities: Fullwell Cross, Loxford, Mayfield, South Woodford, Wanstead, and Woodford Green.
