The Black British Ballet project, led by the Brixton based organisation, Oxygen Arts, has created a ballet performance that tells the story of Windrush and explores the impact of this generation’s experiences on their families, communities and society. It aims to radically reimagine what Black British Ballet could be for a new generation: powerful, relevant and rooted in black experiences and culture.
The piece is choreographed by Darren Panton who was the first black British male to go to the Royal Ballet School and Patrick Williams who worked with Rudolf Nureyev at the Paris Opera.
