Tech and Digital Clubs

We also deliver a wide range of tech and digital workshops during the school holidays, to book these visit our Libraries BookWhen webpage and during Easter and summer our MegaMix Bookwhen webpage. You can also subscribe to our Libraries Newsletter. We are always looking for volunteers interested in tech to help us run our Tech and Digital activities and clubs. This June, on Saturday 14, we’re hosting Tech Ilford—our free annual festival of arts, creativity, and innovation—packed with STEAM activities for families. Visit the Tech Ilford page to find out more.

CoderDojo at Redbridge Libraries, 8-13 yrs

Learn coding skills by creating fun games and animations supported by our keen volunteers. The dojos are free, but spaces are limited, and you need to book in advance. Please enquire with the library.

TECHStorytelling, 9-12 yrs

A reading club for children interested in becoming storytellers using 3D modelling skills. We require a commitment of at least 6 sessions. Suitable for beginners. Developed with support from NAG.

Dates and times: Saturdays, twice a month term-time only, 2 pm-3 pm

Stop Motion Animation Club, 8-12 yrs

In this club, you’ll team up in groups of 2 or 3 and share an iPad to create your very own animated movies! You’ll work together with other young animators to dream up fun stories, design awesome characters, and build them using modeling clay. It’s run by young people, so no adults are leading—it’s all about learning and creating together, sharing ideas, and making something amazing as a team.

One Place Pop Up, adults

One Place East have a weekly slot at the library to let the community know all about what they do and the services they can offer. Their Technical Assistance Project will also aim to demonstrate some of the latest equipment available and answer your questions about getting online.

Tech Exploration Club, adults

Join us to dive into the exciting world of technology. Explore Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), 3D Design, 3D printing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and much more. You will have the opportunity to experiment and explore established and emerging technologies. Perfect for anyone with a passion for technology or those who want to learn more. Pop in and join our community of like-minded tech enthusiasts. Do not miss out on this unique learning experience!

Repair Café, adults

Bring along broken stuff: portable household items, sewing/fabric repairs, and other bits and bobs. Some specialist repairs available. For laptop and desktop upgrades and issues please contact us first. Not sure about your item?

Energy Café, adults

As the cost of living continues to rise, there has never been a better time to look at ways to save money and reduce your carbon footprint at the same time. We are a volunteer-led advice desk and can help you save energy in your home and money on energy bills. If you want advice on energy bills, then please bring relevant paperwork so we can advise you appropriately. Information will always be confidential. Run by Transition Town Ilford.
