Calling all Lower Brass Players!

Redbridge Music Service is excited to welcome the internationally renowned trombone quartet ‘Bones Apart’ to lead a workshop for lower brass players.

The workshop is open to any students who play the trombone, baritone horn, euphonium or tuba who are approximately grade 2 to 8+.

In this practical workshop, students will be guided to improve all aspects of their playing by some of the country’s top brass players. The event will culminate in an informal performance on the afternoon, and then be followed by a public performance at the Redbridge Music Service Brass Festival on Wednesday 4th December at the Sir James Hawkey Hall.

Go Large!

We are pleased to host our first Go Large! taster day where we are inviting young musicians to come and try out a range of large brass instruments, including the Trombone, Tuba, Euphonium & French Horn.

Students aged between 8-17 are welcome. No previous brass playing experience is necessary and full guidance will be given by the Music Service brass tutors.

At the end of the taster sessions, students will get to hear a performance by the internationally renowned trombone quartet ‘Bones Apart’ who are supporting this initiative.

Perhaps you are a pianist who might like to try out an orchestral instrument?
A trumpeter struggling with the high notes?
or a cellist who knows ‘It’s All About That Bass’?

This is the perfect opportunity for young musicians to try something new!

This event is offered free of charge but places are limited and registration is required to secure a spot. 

“Innocence, There is a Mark on You”


Kat Mary Productions presents a new imagining of the haunting play by Georg Buchner. Set amidst the backdrop of WW1, Woyzeck is a startling depiction of the lowly soldier plagued by visions of the apocalypse and plunged into homicidal lunacy by the world around him. The agonizing effects of war trauma and the devastating impact of extreme poverty and societal abuse still resonate over 180 years after the play was first written.

Nature’s Corner, held in the 1856 Café, is a chance to come together and chat about all things wildlife at Hainault Forest and further afield.

Open to everyone that has an interest in wildlife, whether you know a little or a lot! This informal event allows you to meet other likeminded people and learn something new!

Each session, a few resources will be provided to spark conversations around wildlife sightings, news, and ways to get involved.

We will spend the hour in the café but feel free to explore the forest before or after!

Supported by the Charity of Sir Richard Whittington, this programme is perfect for joyful relaxation, family bonding, social connection and intergenerational encounters. You’ll leave feeling revitalised and invigorated, full of fun and excitement. No previous experience is required!

Come along and feel the transformative power of African drumming!

Join us for a transformative workshop where you’ll create your own wall hanging, blending art and self-care.

In this hands-on session, you’ll:

  • Design a Unique Wall Hanging: Incorporate your favourite self-care activities into a beautiful piece of art.
  • Foster Mindfulness and Well-being: Engage in a creative process that promotes relaxation and mindfulness.
  • Connect with Like-minded Individuals: Share this enriching experience with others who value self-care and creativity.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a unique piece of art and a reminder of the importance of self-care.

Steps:

  • Reflect on activities you enjoy with provided prompts.
  • Select and decorate a cardboard house shape.
  • Use images, drawings, and collage materials (some provided, feel free to bring your own).
