Redbridge Libraries to Receive HUGE Digital Upgrade

Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure today announced that Redbridge Libraries will receive its biggest Public PC upgrade ever. The latest step in a far-reaching plan to make access to the library service easier and more accessible than ever; and the upgrade is already under way. The new public devices boast a 53% larger screen size compared to their predecessors and offer a new way for the local community to access the digital world at their local library.

“We are thrilled to announce that the Public PC upgrade is underway, this is just one of the ways that we intend to improve online access for our members and the wider community. The pandemic has brought to light the digital divide and public libraries are key in bridging that gap in accessibility” says Anita Luby, Head of Cultural Services.

Redbridge Libraries receives on average 130,000 visitors per month across the service and expects to see around 15,000 people logging into the PC’s.

The new PCs will include:

  • High speed working and browsing
  • A 53% larger screen size, allowing you more space to work
  • The latest Microsoft Office suite of apps
  • Fully secured and erased after each log out, protecting your data

The Public PCs are available now at Redbridge Central Library and will continue to be rolled out across the rest of the service this Autumn.
