About the park

Valentines Park is our premiere award winning park securing the prestigious Green Flag. The park has a diverse tree collection including a 300 year old field maple, ornamental gardens, flowering meadows and a network of accessible paths for you to enjoy. There are two children’s play areas as well as two different cafes with a great selection of food and beverages. The park also features one of the biggest outdoor gyms in London.

Green Flag Award

The national standard for parks and open spaces in England and Wales recognises and rewards the best green spaces in the country with Green Flag Status.

Valentines Park has retained its Green Flag Status for 2024 and has been awarded a place in the Top Ten an impressive nine times since 2012.

Valentines Park has been named among the UK’s top ten parks in the 2024 People’s Choice Awards. This prestigious award recognises and celebrates parks that are clean, well-maintained, and inviting spaces for relaxation and recreation, and highlights the strong community support for Redbridge’s beloved green spaces.

Valentines Mansion and Gardens

Situated within the park, Valentines Mansion is a Grade II* listed building with it’s own beautifully kept historic gardens. With over 320 years of history waiting to be discovered.

Outdoor Gym

Valentines is home to a brand new outdoor gym. With 15 pieces of equipment and a total of 20 work stations it is one of the biggest in London!

Activities

Our Walking for Health Group meets regularly at Valentines Park for more see our Walking for Health page.

We also run a range of weekly activities at Valentines such as parkrun, Dementia Walks and Talk and Tennis Coaching. For more information on regular activities, please visit the timetable.

Tennis

We have 10 parks across the borough with tennis courts, including Valentines Park that are available to book during park open times.

Cost to hire the courts:

  • Monday – Friday up to 12noon – FREE
  • Monday – Friday 12-5pm – £2.50
  • Monday – Friday 5pm to closing & weekends – £5


Park Rules & Car Parking

To ensure our parks are maintained to the highest standard and everyone visiting the park has a pleasant experience, we have a few rules in place that visitors should follow, more information here.

Car parking available at this site, payment via RingGo. No cash payments accepted.

Motorcycles can park for free if they are parked within a bay.

Vehicle entrances are located on Melbourne Road, Perth Road and Cranbrook Road.
